What a New Busy Life Now !

I took a new job at the end of Jun; therefore, I have been very busy since then. To be honest, when I got this job, I was excited. I was also ready for working overtime at first month; however, it was a bit hard than I expected. After three weeks, I was getting better and better to get used to this new job. Although I overworked almost everyday and weekend, I think it helped me to catch up my job a lot. No pain no gain tells my situation now. There is still something for me to adapt this new environment, and  I really hope I can do this job well soon.

After the graduation, I have received two messages of my classmates. They comforted me and it was really sweet. I also met my class teacher by chance although we did not talked much. Last week, I dreamt my closed friend who passed away last month, and she was smile at me in my dream which made me felt much better and less sad. A new life now is good for me and I appreciate it. Although I missed a lot of activities in Jun because of personal reasons, I think I might be able to open my mind soon. Moreover, I hope I have some free time to practice English, too.

Sixth June

It was a very unforgettable day for me because it was " Dragon Boat Festival" and it was also my friend's funeral. It has been two weeks since it happened. I was less sad by the time but I was still blue. The first week was terrible because I cried a lot when I thought of her or I saw anything which made me think of her. I could not have any mood to attend any activities. After attending her funeral,  I was much better at least my mood was not that bad or blue. Maybe through  that funeral cured me some parts of my sadness and I also felt that life is very fragile and unexpected.

I had to say that I was not sad than I thought on the way to the funeral after two weeks. However, when I arrived there I could not cry again. I remembered that another friend asked me that why my eyes like a tap because they were full of tears and could not stop. It it true and it is me. I think it is a way that helps me to release my sorrow. The funeral did not take a long time but it was warmth and solemn. Although it was a festival, some friends still came to say goodbye to her. After ceremony my friend and I also went to crematory. Three of us used to be best friends because we used to meet once per month before she was ill. This was the last thing we could do for her that was to keep with her at the end of funeral.

It was a extremely hot day but it was a rainy day in my heart. I felt calm without any sad thoughts on my way home. Maybe it was because the heat made me forget about it. However, I knew that I could say goodbye to her with my blessing. May she go to a place without sickness and pain. We do not forget you because you will be aways  in our hearts although we were saying goodbye to you.

Saying Goodbye

Actually I was planing to say goodbye to my school, teachers and classmates by my blog next Tuesday because it is my birthday. It is also a right time to do it for I have been taking a rest for a long time; therefore, I desire to have a different and new life after graduation.  I think most of our classmates maybe will not see or contact often or even do not see or contact after leaving school. However, there was a intimate friend who I did not really want to say goodbye, and I had to say goodbye to her on Saturday night. She had been serious ill for several months. I know what I think was really childish and immature, but I just could not say goodbye in person because I was too afraid and sad to do it. At last, I still went to the hospital to see her and say goodbye although my friend could not hear it anymore.

To our classmates, I want to say thank you to them although I did not talk a lot to each classmate. Because of them, we became a united and studious class. To our teachers, I would like to thank them, too because of their kindness and patience. Without their understanding, most of us probably would not graduate successfully this year. Although there were a lot of issue happening in two years, I still think each classmate cares about our class. It is just because each person has a different view and choice of issue; therefore, there are a lot disagreement and misunderstanding. It is actually a lesson to me, too.

To be honest, I start to hate saying goodbye, because it is always sad and hurting. The meaning of goodbye in Chinese is 再見(zai jian) which means you might see the person to whom you say goodbye . When you say goodbye to someone who is not no longer exist in the world, it sounds ironic, doesn't it?  I once though that you may just say goodbye to someone who is not young but elder; however, I need to change my thinking. Although I cherish every memory I had, the pain is still there. This such terrible feeling just could not leave from me; in contrast, it recalls all sorrowful memories to me, as well.

Driving

Driving is quite a challenge job to me. I got my driving licence in 2004. I only drove one time on the public place except for the training field, and I did not drive anymore since then. It was not a good experience, so I am still afraid of driving now. When I know my female friends can drove to work or school, it is really impressed me.

7 years ago, my sister took my brother and I to Danshui by driving in order to practice driving. My sister is already an experienced driver and we were just beginners, so she wanted to assist and give us a practical driving lesson. She drive to Danshui first then it was my brother's turn to practice driving from Danshui to Baishawan. He was not at ease at first, but he was getting better and better after a while. When we were sitting in the car, both my sister and I were a little bit nervous. It was because we knew he was new, but we also knew he was OK and much confident after some time. At last, it was my turn to practice driving form Danshui to home. I only remembered that there were countless cars beside my car and the drivers were in a
hurry. There were a lot of cars passing my car because that day was one of Chinese New Year holidays and it was in rush hour of going  home. My feet and body were so stiff after driving home. The most funny thing was that my sister and brother said, "They will never ever  in my car again because I am a dangerous driver; How could I speed up when I make a turn?" I think I did that because I thought it was just like riding a scooter; however, it was totally different. I am pretty sure they were frightened by me at that time.

After it, I have never ever drove a car because it was a terrible experience. Of course, I know I just need more practice, but I still do not have the confidence and courage. From my experience of riding a scooter, maybe I just  need to buy my own car then I have a courage to drive because it is how I start riding my scooter. I still do not give up driving and I do look forward to driving without worring one day although I am still concerned about transferring to another lane when there are a lot of cars beside my car.

Hiking

Hiking is one of my favorite outdoor activities. I have been several experiences in Australia so far. One of experiences was in 2007 and it made me have a deep impression.

I remembered that one time I went hiking with an experienced friend in the Grampians in VictoriaI. I was very slow and tired at the beginning because I did not get enough sleeping last night. The weather was not nice but drizzly and cold, so it made my hiking more difficult than I thought. As my friend is used to doing all outdoor activities; especially, hiking is a piece of cake for him because it is part of his job. I was a bit angry at myself  for the first some minutes, and my friend found out I was like a turtle far away from him. He was nice to stop and wait for me. After catching him up, we sat down and had breakfast for few minutes at stairs. I told him that I stayed here to wait for him back with a angry tone. To be honest, I did not believe I could go on the top of  the mountain at that time; however, I made it at last.  I was glad my friend did not give me up. If he had gave me up, I would not seen this such spectacular view, and would not had an amazing experience.

Hiking is more like a challenge to me because it competes with not only your physical but your mental. If you think your life is like going hiking, it will not be disappointed you for it is always full of surprises and adventures. During this journey you could  sometimes meet some good companies, but sometime you could not. The most interesting is that you will never ever know what is happening next in your life. I have to say that  although I do not like it sometimes and do not have many choices, I still have to try to accept and overcome it. If you enjoy it, it is even better.

A Song- A Stranger 陌生人

Two days ago, I took a bus home after visiting a close friend at Mackay Memorial Hospital. When I turned on the music, I could not stop listening to a song- A Stranger by Tanya Chua. The weather was bad with heavy clouds and some drizzle on my way home. The bus picked up passengers one stop after another stop and I was thoroughly immersed in music with a sad feeling.

I like the melody of the song and the way of the singer expresses it. Tanya is from Singapore and she was born in 1975. She is also a singer, songwriter, composer, and recorder producer. Her best achievement  was winning a prize in the Asia Song Festival in 1997. She is living in Taiwan now and she loves yoga, too. This year her concert was held in March 26.

I like to listen to the music, so I am easy indulge myself in it; especially, when I am in a bad mood ,it is a very good way to cheer me up or forget some worries for a moment. I also found that when you listen to a song, it can recall some memories of a person or a thing to you. It is very interesting, isn't ?

Let Nature Take Its Course

There was something happening around me recently. Most of things made me think about what I should  do or what I should  not do about them.  My friends and my school are two main parts taking most of time of  my life so far; as a result, they are also easy to influence me on my daily mood and feelings.

Writing used to a way I like to express my emotions, but I have stopped writing for a long time. I had kept writing in my diary for several years and I quitted it two years ago. The reason I like to write in my diary is because writing makes me free my pressure and  have a feeling of release. However, when I felt it could not help me to deal with my pressure and trouble, I stopped writing. Right now, I have a feeling which is a pity  that I give up this good habit.

Now, I like reading no matter in Chinese or English. Novels are my favorite reading;especially, I like translated novels very much. I have found some novels as my collections. I also started reading Reader's Digest in April because I want to improve  English writing skill and English reading comprehension, and enhance vocabulary, too.

Something still bothers me now. This blog helps me to express my feeling in some ways. I do not know why I meet some obstacles  to find my interests back and it seems to trouble me . I think I should let nature take its course.

The Blind Side (攻其不備)

I had a chance to watch a movie which was The Blind Side on HBO last night. When I chose this program, I could not stopping watching it. It was because I was so touched by the story and plus I knew the leader actress who is Sandra Bullock won a Academy Award of the best actress in 2010. It made me be interested in this movie and it was definitely worth to pay some time to watch it.

The story is about a high school boy who is Michael Oher and knows little about his family. One day, when Mrs. Touhy( Sandra Bullock) meets him at her daughter's school and she found out he has no place to go, she takes him home and also she gives him home, too. The Touhy family also helps Michael to be a blue-chip football star but he is actually  less about football. They even also welcome him to be a member of the Touhy's family because the family found something just as life-changing.  Especially, it is based on the extraordinary true story plus famous actors and actresses, such as Tim Mcgraw and Kathy Bates.

The true story always draws me a big attention. Moreover, it is so heartwarming. I think Michael is very lucky to meet  kind and generous Touhy couple. I do hope there will be more Michael and Mr. and Mrs Touhy in the world then there will be less unlucky and miserable people and stories to happen.

Glee

I am a big fan of musical dramas and soap operas. There is an interesting musical drama which is Glee on Chanel 45. At first, I did not know what does "Glee" mean and I found out it after looking up the dictionary.
There ares two meanings of it. One is great delight, especially from one's own good fortune or another's misfortune. The other one is a song for men's voices or more parts, usually unaccompanied, of a type popular especially circa 1750-1830. When I watched it, I know why it is named "Glee." It is because there are full of joys and singing during the plot of play.

"Glee"  is usually broadcasting on every Tuesday and it is rebroadcasting on every Saturday morning. I do not really catch every performance; however, I like the story and singing when every time I watch it. All the stories are very close to us such as friendships, schools lives or relationships between children and parents, but some of people may say it is just a musical drama for most of teenagers. I would like to say that it is a good entertainment to watch for relaxing on your free time. I think why I like to watch English series or dramas much; it is because some of them are fun and humorous and some of them are ironic but thoughtful. The best advantage is that I can learn  English, as well, especially listening.

Health is Priceless

I have visited my friend at the hospital recently and it made me feel that health is priceless. People usually do not take it seriously until they are ill. I think there are several reasons to prevent from sickness as fowling: taking exercise, having a balance diet and keeping a hobby. When people are serious sick, it usually costs much money to recover it  or sometimes even money can not buy it back.

First, exercises are important for people to keep healthy because it relaxes your body and strengthen your muscle. The most important reason is that you can increase your immune system resistibility by doing sports. Some people may think they do exercise sometimes but they do not think it benefits them; however, it needs to take time and have to take exercise regularly not only doing it one or twice per month or year. I think there are some exercises are easy for people to do, such as speeding walk, yoga, running and so on.

Second, a balance diet can contribute to a good health because it provides your body balance nutrition. As now it is a fast industrial and developing world, people are easy to eat much artificial processing food or even eat too much salty and greasy food. All of them can risk people get sick or even get cancer by eating not natural food. I think only care about your well diet can increase the resistibility of  your body in order to keep away illness.

Third, having a hobby is a great way to be healthy because it can reduce your pressure. Many people are sick due to under much pressure; however, most of them can not get ride of it. As a result, they do not sleep well and become into insomnniac. More seriously, they might be able to have melancholia which is a big matter for people. Indeed, people need to find a ways to deal with pressure, so keep a hobby is a good way to free from their worries or stress.

In conclusion, only people take exercise regularly, eat balance food and have a hobby can benefit people's health. My best opinion is not only take care your physical, such as taking exercise, but also  take care your mentality, such as releasing your strain. If you pay attention to both of them, you will have a healthy life. Moreover, it is priceless because even you have much money you might not able to buy a healthy life.

Devastating Earthquake

There were a  lot of things going on in March, but most of them were sad for me. For example, there was a huge international news happening in Japan on March 11. They were about a devastating earthquake and tsunami in northeast Japan. It has been eleven days since it happened. There were over eight thousands of people died  and thousands of people were still missing. It drew a big attention especially a nuclear power plant crisis. Taiwan is very close to Japan, so we watched close  every movement of Japanese government.

Because of earthquakes, it brought a lot of issues in Taiwan. Ways of news report and against building a unclear power plant are the most controversy for people. First, the way of report is too invasive if it compares to NHK which gives more and latest information and news to people to help them escape to safe shelters. In contrast, Taiwanese news stations offer much sensational reports instead of giving information and educational reports. Second, about the issue of nuclear power plants, it made people and scholars questioned Taiwanese government again. Did we really prepare and prevent damages of any disasters well? All are concerns about safety of unclear power plants.

In my opinion, these questions and issues are still remaining no answers. Some people might be much aware of earthquakes and tsunami because they see the powerful damages in Japan by TVs and Japanese people. Do people really need  unclear power or people need to avid wasting energy sources? I think we should think about that we are destroyed by ourselves or nature.

Outstanding Champion Golfer

I have been watching news about our outstanding champion golfer who is Tseng, Yani. She has already won forth games of the world in a row. When I watched TV, I was very excited and I felt so happy for her. To be honest this is quite a honer for everyone in Taiwan. Especially, she is the first Taiwanese to achieve this great victory as she is only twenty- two years old.

She was born in Guishan township of Taoyuan, Taiwan.  In 2007, she turned professional in January and competed on the Asian Golf Tour and she won DLF Women’s Indian Open. She also competed on the CN Canadian Women’s Tour and she won the CN Canadian Women’s Tour at Vancouver
Golf Club. Since then she has been doing great and won some games and money prize. This year she is even better than before because she has won four times in a row. Now, she is in Singapore to challenge the fifth games to break her record to go for the biggest dream of her.

Because of her, I learn more about golf and I enjoy watching golf games, too. I read some articles and watched some interviews of her, and I found she is a very modest and hard working player. She is always smiling when she plays games or having interviePws on TV. It makes me like her more and admire her, too. I really hope she will come true her dream to won the world champion. No matter she wins or loses, I believe everyone is already proud of her.

Long Time No See Friend

Several years ago, I made a lots of friends in Australia when I studied in Melbourne. There was a friend I remembered the most because I had learnt a lot from her and I had a good time with her, too. She is a
quite independent girl with a outgoing character. Moreover, she is just only one year older than me.She knows her goal and keeps going to go for it that I admire her the most.

The first time I met her was in English class. She was introduced by my teacher because we were both from Taiwan. I still remembered that the first impression of her was very cool even a bit cold. However, after few times meeting, I felt that  she was not that cool but nice. Especially, after a long time studying, we became friends even often visiting her homestay. We often went out together and chatted a lot about our lives. As time went by, we developed a good friendship. Before I came back to Taiwan, we had a few days trip together in Victoria. It was an unforgettable experience and trip because we planed on our own and we traveled by backpack. It was an adventure for me and I started loving to travel by backpack.

After coming back to Taiwan, we only met once in Taiwan and we seldom contacted with each other by email. She is still going for her dream in Australia now. Although we do not know or contact now, I still hope she will be fine and has a good job in Australia. I think you may have a lot of friends in your life, some you may still keep in touch with but some you may only being together for a short time. No matter what, to be friends once is the best gift for me.

Egypt's Revolution

There were big international news in January to draw us attention which was Egypt's revolution. I could watch it on TV every day, and there were different stories and new developments happening there. Egypt is located at North Africa and the capital city is Cairo. There was a person who is Wael Ghonim, an executive of Google, inspired lots of people regarding as a hero of Egypt's revolution.

Tunisia is a neighbor country of Egypt and the revolution in Tunisia seemed to trigger Egyptians wakened.  There were thousands of protesters in Cairo to call for the end to the rule of President Hosni Mubarak. He has been autocratic ruling Egypt for 30 years; however, the economics has not improved and people couldn't satisfied with it. Moreover, President Hosni Mubarak's family has lots of estates in foreign countries. It led Egyptians to fight for their future and freedom. Especially, a hero who is Wael Ghonim, was detained by Egyptian authorities because he is behind the Facebook page that helped spark "the revolution of the youth of the internet. Because of him, there were more and more people were going to the street to demonstrate.

Finally, Mr. Mubarak resigned and turned over all power to the military on Feb. 11, 2011. It was a victory for Egyptians although it is still a long way to go. Furthermore, it wakes Arab World, because other countries are carrying on the spirit to fight for their human rights and freedom.

My Sister's Keeper

"My sister's keeper" is my second novel of English version but it is the first novel of English version that I finished reading. I remember that I bought it at last winter vacation and I was complete reading in last December although I did not know lots of medical terms and vocabulary of the book. I pretty like this author whose name is Jodi Picoult because I am reading another novel of her now. The first time I saw this novel at the bookstore but I did not buy it. After a year, I was looking for a novel of  English version, so I decided to but it as my collection.

The story is about a young girl who is Anna has undergone countless surgeries, transfusions, and shots for her older sister, Kate, who diagnosed leukemia from her childhood. The product of preimplantation genetic diagnosis, Anna is also conceived as a bone marrow match for Kate. All of these make her question who she truly is, so she makes a decision to hire a lawyer to against her parents' plan for donating a kidney to Kate. Due to this decision, her family is facing apart and possibly having fatal consequences for the sister she loves.

I like a way of the author's writing which is separate describing every character's feeling and emotion. I can not say that Anna's mom is selfish because she just does the thing which every mother in the world will do. Anna is also brave enough to fight for her right and to say the truth to her parents. At the end of the story, Anna passes away which is really sad; however, it brings a chance for her family to heal the break and to unify again. It is really a touched and meaningful story for me to think about it.

The Reunion of Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year is a quite big festival for Chinese people and my family is not the exception. I remember that my older sister and I are very busy at this special holiday every year because we are normally in charge of preparing and purchasing all the stuff and food which we need at Chinese New Year. However, my oldest sister and her children stayed with us this year, so we were less busy and tired. In addition, I was also looking forward to having our reunion of my family. To be honest, this is the important day of a year for me because every member will come back to have lunch and chat together.

As usual, we contacted with our auntie because she is the host of our reunion of Chinese New Year every year. My auntie is like my mom in some ways although she does not our relative. However, we regard her as our family's friend and senior. We had a family reunion on the third of January of lunar calendar at Kanghwa hotel. We had a very big lunch and sang karaoke there. As years go by, there are five children in my family now, so it was quite cheerful and animated when they sang karaoke.  At the end of lunch, my sister usually prepared some scratch-off tickets to entertain and this was the highlight of our reunion.  I was lucky because I won seven hundreds dollars by two scratch-off tickets.

After lunch, everyone came back to our house to continue our chatting and  out of our expection, my auntie joined us this year. We were glad to have her to visit our place, otherwise she usually went back to her home after lunch. I am always very happy at a reunion because every member can gather together  and share or chat their recent developments which make us closer. As age goes by I do not really like Chinese New Year; however, I do look forward to having our reunion every year.
