The Reunion of Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year is a quite big festival for Chinese people and my family is not the exception. I remember that my older sister and I are very busy at this special holiday every year because we are normally in charge of preparing and purchasing all the stuff and food which we need at Chinese New Year. However, my oldest sister and her children stayed with us this year, so we were less busy and tired. In addition, I was also looking forward to having our reunion of my family. To be honest, this is the important day of a year for me because every member will come back to have lunch and chat together.

As usual, we contacted with our auntie because she is the host of our reunion of Chinese New Year every year. My auntie is like my mom in some ways although she does not our relative. However, we regard her as our family's friend and senior. We had a family reunion on the third of January of lunar calendar at Kanghwa hotel. We had a very big lunch and sang karaoke there. As years go by, there are five children in my family now, so it was quite cheerful and animated when they sang karaoke.  At the end of lunch, my sister usually prepared some scratch-off tickets to entertain and this was the highlight of our reunion.  I was lucky because I won seven hundreds dollars by two scratch-off tickets.

After lunch, everyone came back to our house to continue our chatting and  out of our expection, my auntie joined us this year. We were glad to have her to visit our place, otherwise she usually went back to her home after lunch. I am always very happy at a reunion because every member can gather together  and share or chat their recent developments which make us closer. As age goes by I do not really like Chinese New Year; however, I do look forward to having our reunion every year.
