Devastating Earthquake

There were a  lot of things going on in March, but most of them were sad for me. For example, there was a huge international news happening in Japan on March 11. They were about a devastating earthquake and tsunami in northeast Japan. It has been eleven days since it happened. There were over eight thousands of people died  and thousands of people were still missing. It drew a big attention especially a nuclear power plant crisis. Taiwan is very close to Japan, so we watched close  every movement of Japanese government.

Because of earthquakes, it brought a lot of issues in Taiwan. Ways of news report and against building a unclear power plant are the most controversy for people. First, the way of report is too invasive if it compares to NHK which gives more and latest information and news to people to help them escape to safe shelters. In contrast, Taiwanese news stations offer much sensational reports instead of giving information and educational reports. Second, about the issue of nuclear power plants, it made people and scholars questioned Taiwanese government again. Did we really prepare and prevent damages of any disasters well? All are concerns about safety of unclear power plants.

In my opinion, these questions and issues are still remaining no answers. Some people might be much aware of earthquakes and tsunami because they see the powerful damages in Japan by TVs and Japanese people. Do people really need  unclear power or people need to avid wasting energy sources? I think we should think about that we are destroyed by ourselves or nature.
