There were big international news in January to draw us attention which was Egypt's revolution. I could watch it on TV every day, and there were different stories and new developments happening there. Egypt is located at North Africa and the capital city is Cairo. There was a person who is Wael Ghonim, an executive of Google, inspired lots of people regarding as a hero of Egypt's revolution.
Tunisia is a neighbor country of Egypt and the revolution in Tunisia seemed to trigger Egyptians wakened. There were thousands of protesters in Cairo to call for the end to the rule of President Hosni Mubarak. He has been autocratic ruling Egypt for 30 years; however, the economics has not improved and people couldn't satisfied with it. Moreover, President Hosni Mubarak's family has lots of estates in foreign countries. It led Egyptians to fight for their future and freedom. Especially, a hero who is Wael Ghonim, was detained by Egyptian authorities because he is behind the Facebook page that helped spark "the revolution of the youth of the internet. Because of him, there were more and more people were going to the street to demonstrate.
Finally, Mr. Mubarak resigned and turned over all power to the military on Feb. 11, 2011. It was a victory for Egyptians although it is still a long way to go. Furthermore, it wakes Arab World, because other countries are carrying on the spirit to fight for their human rights and freedom.
